About Innate Wisdom
The concept of Innate Wisdom was founded in 2018 by Psychologist and Yoga/Meditation Teacher and student, Natalie Clark, initially birthed as a book “Innate Wisdom - A Somatic Approach to Being Human”, which is in its final stages of completion, to be released early 2024.
Innate Wisdom recognises the sweet and wild reality of being human, and that we can navigate this human adventure with more ease by learning the language of our human body, and unearthing a wisdom that exists within us always.
As Humans, we are animals, and we share many physical and biological characteristics with other animals, including an instinctual drive to survive. To support our survival, our nervous systems learn from life experience, storing these memories and responding to the world in accordance with beliefs formed from this learning.
This adaptive process helps to ensure our survival, however this is often not aligned with our conscious understanding and desires, and can be perceived as creating challenge in our life.
From a space of compassion, we can acknowledge that these challenges are imposed by our animal instinct with purpose to protect us and keep us alive. We can approach this part of us with respect so that we can move forward and embrace opportunities for growth and love.
To cultivate greater ease in our human experience, it is important to deepen our awareness of the memories, emotions, and beliefs stored in our bodies. Some of this may not be accessible to our conscious minds, but we can still connect with them through our felt sense, explore how they presently impact our lives, process and release them.
While we wait for publication of “Innate Wisdom - A Somatic Approach to Being Human”, we will be sharing some offerings so that you can start delving into the world of unearthing your innate wisdom.
